Traceability at the heart of the supply chain
What are the objectives of traceability?
Supply chain traceability refers to the ability to track and document the journey of products, raw materials or components throughout their life cycle, from their origin (such as suppliers or producers) to the final consumer. This includes the stages of production, processing, storage, transportation, and distribution.
The benefits of supply chain traceability are clear:
- Guarantee transparency for consumers: Traceability allows stakeholders, including consumers, to know the origin and production stages of a product. It helps to address growing customer concerns regarding the origin of raw materials (e.g., absence of toxic substances, ethical sourcing, etc.). Traceability tells you if the ingredients are sustainable, not tested on animals, or from organic sources. Traceable products make it easier to obtain labels such as "organic", "vegan" or "cruelty-free", which reassure consumers. A real plus for responsible consumption, but also for turning to brands you can trust;
- Ensure quality and safety: By tracking production and supply stages, companies can identify recurring issues and optimize their processes to ensure consistent quality. Traceability also helps verify that hygiene and quality standards have been respected at each stage;
- Meet regulations : traceability gives brands like Grangettes the opportunity to precisely comply with the legal or normative requirements of the cosmetics industry;
- Manage product recalls and improve efficiency: In the event of a problem (for example, a contaminated batch or a reported adverse reaction), traceability makes it possible to locate affected batches and quickly remove them from the market, limiting risks for consumers. Traceability makes it possible to optimize internal processes by identifying possible inefficiencies.

In this sense, we are committed to excluding any harmful or controversial ingredients from our recipes, such as phenoxyethanol, parabens, silicones, PEGs, irritants, allergens, comedogenic ingredients, petroleum derivatives, endocrine disruptors, pollutants, or animal-derived products. For each production batch, we review and adjust our formulations based on the latest available scientific research.
Finally, just like many other criteria, the choice of the packaging of our products is the result of extensive consideration of recycling, product conservation, practicality, eco-responsibility and 'aesthetic. At Grangettes, we have chosen packaging in recyclable glass or aluminum, in order to effectively protect our creams from oxidation (UV, oxygen, heat), while taking care of the planet !
