Avoid tobacco and alcohol
Tobacco and alcohol are two great enemies of your skin (and your health). They cause the oxidation of epidermis cells and cause the appearance of wrinkles.
They damage the small vessels of the skin tissue, which makes oxygenation and blood circulation more difficult. Furthermore, cigarette smoke contains enzymes that destroy elastin and collagen, causing the skin to lose suppleness.
Protect your skin from the sun
The sun is primarily responsible for skin aging. In question ? UVA, which are the most harmful, because they penetrate deeper into the dermis than UVB.
They break down collagen and elastin fibers, and cause thickening of the skin and deep wrinkles. The sun also causes a loss of firmness, and leads to the appearance of brownish spots, or even melasma (commonly called “the pregnancy mask”).
The most effective method is simply to avoid exposure as much as possible, especially during the highest risk hours: between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.. Treatments enriched with antioxidants (ferulic acid, resveratrol and vitamin C) or even carotenoids can help protect the skin from UVA.
Sunscreens are also a great way to protect yourself from UV rays. They should be applied every two hours, in generous quantities.
Moisturize your skin from the outside every day
To keep your skin well hydrated, apply emollient products such as vegetable oils daily.
Also note that over time, the production of hyaluronic acid naturally present in the skin decreases. This molecule can absorb up to 1000 times its weight in water , giving the skin a more supple, more elastic and plumper appearance.
The secret ? Opt for an anti-aging face cream or a lifting serum enriched with hyaluronic acid , in order to slow down water loss and slow down the appearance of the first wrinkles.
This eye contour gel , rich in hyaluronic acid and vitamin B3, can also be a great ally: these ingredients support the elasticity of the skin for a rejuvenated look.

Drink at least 1.5 L of water per day
To have plump skin, you must take care to hydrate it deeply. The different skin layers must benefit from significant water intake, daily.
In fact, every day, this loss is significant: more than a liter of water is evacuated via urine, and a liter is also eliminated through sweat, stools and respiration. To compensate for these losses, diet is a major ally, but you must also make sure to drink at least 1.5 L of water at the same time!
Taking care of your sleep to slow down skin aging
To have pretty skin, make sure you take care of your sleep. Indeed, it is during this period that your skin tissue regenerates and produces growth hormone which strengthens the elasticity of the epidermis.
But that's not all: when you lack sleep, your body secretes cortisol, the stress hormone. In the long term, the latter leads to cellular aging of the skin.
To enjoy restful sleep, several tips:
- Adopt a regular sleep schedule;
- Perform bedtime rituals: by performing the same actions every evening, you signal to your brain that bedtime is approaching;
- Opt for quality bedding, adapted to your sleeping position, your body shape and your comfort preferences;
- Limit screens that generate blue light in the evening;
- Practice relaxing activities during the two hours before going to bed: meditation, yoga, reading, meditative coloring, etc.
Adopt an anti-aging diet
What you eat directly affects the health of your skin. Make sure you eat a varied diet and balanced. In order to delay the aging of the skin, choose foods:
- Antioxidants: they help skin tissue fight against aging;
- Rich in omega 3: they preserve the elasticity and suppleness of the epidermis;
- Rich in vitamins A, C and E.
Here are some foods that help you keep your skin young: tomatoes, carrots, eggs, oranges, peppers, kiwis, grapefruit, red beans, oily fish like salmon , sardines or even mackerel, beets, oilseeds such as hazelnuts, almonds...
Stop stress to slow down skin aging!
Stress denatures the protective barrier of the epidermis. Because of it, the skin loses elasticity and firmness, and the formation of fine lines and wrinkles accelerates. But that's not all: the complexion becomes dull and pigment spots may appear.
To fight against skin aging, it is recommended to practice regular physical activity, and to treat yourself to moments of relaxation every day: massages, meditation, walks, etc.
